Records were set last night during the Olympics, but not the kind that sparkles of gold. Instead, the evening's Canada vs USA Men's Olympian Hockey goes down in history as the most-watched sports program in Canadian history with 10.6 million viewers.

With a larger audience than the Salt Lake City 2002 gold medal game featuring the same two teams (10.3 million), CTV reports that 2010 game actually peaked at 13 million viewers, and that the game was watched "in part" by nearly two in three Canadians, or 21.5 million viewers (64.3 percent of the Canadian population).

Clearly, at least half of Canadian viewers saw the writing on the wall after Canadian net minder Martin Brodeur let in 5 goals - if you include the last one where he wasn't there - and went off to tap some maple trees and forget.
